Most people struggle to speak effectively because they don’t have a chance to practise. Speakeasy Tirol solves that problem.
We’ve created a safe space for you to practise your public speaking (and attentive listening) skills right here in Tirol.
Our members come from many different professions, backgrounds, and countries, but we all want to become better public speakers: that’s what brings us together. We’re a multi-lingual group and the primary language we use is English, although speakers are also welcome to present in German.
We meet every second week at XXX.

Register to say you’re coming
This enables us to plan the meeting a bit better and make sure that we have enough materials like pens, speaker evaluation forms, and information about our group.
Show up on the day
If you don’t show up, you can’t build your skills! So once you’ve registered, come along, see what we do, give speakers feedback, and perhaps even participate in an impromptu speech if you like. You can also just come along and watch.
Commit to becoming a better speaker
If you like what we’re doing and you want to get started with a structured speaking programme to help you build your skills, let us know. We’ll send you everything you need to get going and plan your first speech.

What does it cost?
The first two sessions are free, and thereafter, we ask members for a donation of EUR 30 per quarter. We use these funds to pay for things like printing, stationery, the website, and other unexpected costs.
We have made this a donation-based club because we strongly believe that it should be open to anyone: if for any reason you want to join, but can’t afford to contribute, you are still very welcome.
We hope that members who find value in being part of Speakeasy Tirol will contribute if they can.
Is Speakeasy Tirol a Toastmasters club?
No. Speakeasy Tirol is loosely based on the structure created by the wonderful Agora Speakers. The reason we chose to use the Agora Speakers model instead of Toastmasters is largely because of the open source model that Agora generously offers, which keeps costs as low as possible for members of Speakeasy Tirol.
You can find out more about Agora Speakers here.

Meet the person behind Speakeasy Tirol
Speakeasy Tirol is the brainchild of Suzanne Whitby, a communication specialist who helps international businesses, scientists and researchers, and sustainability organisations become better communicators. Suzanne believes that great communication can change lives, and she wanted to create a safe space for individuals to come together and develop the skills they need to become effective speakers and listeners.
The result is Speakeasy Tirol.
